We offer opportunities across all three of our nursery settings right from apprenticeships and voluntary placements, through to early years practitioners, routes into teaching and midwifery and leadership & management positions. We offer competitive rates of pay and support our staff in their on-going professional qualifications and training through college, university and external training providers.
Please note that we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our care and we expect all of our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. New employees will be required to undertake appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure, proof of right to work in the UK and suitability checks.

As directed by the Nursery Manager:
-
To ensure overall responsibility for the effective daily management of the Nursery, to have a sound knowledge of all nursery Policies, Procedures, Statutory Welfare Requirements and Ofsted expectations and ensure that these are maintained at all times.
-
To lead by example as an excellent role model to the staff team. Be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children, dealing with staff and parent issues as they arise.

Overall responsibility for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times.
-
Act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person within the setting, dealing with and support any issues as they arise.
-
To lead the nursery to maintain an Outstanding grading with Ofsted.
-
To embrace, understand and promote the nursery and to understand the role you play as a member of the management team in providing high levels of care and education.
-
To reinforce nursery policy and procedures at all times and deal with any breaches swiftly and in an appropriate manner.
-
Support the mentoring of the whole Nursery Team and offer support and guidance as required.
-
Efficient and effective staff deployment at all times Continually motivate and develop the staff team within the nursery through effective role modelling.

Promote equality and diversity within the nursery, challenging any behaviour which does not support our Inclusive Practice and Equal Opportunities Policy.

Reflect on daily practice and identify areas for continual improvement.

To ensure that all children are treated as individuals and that we are supporting this through our approach to planning in line with the EYFS.

To work in partnership to ensure standards are continuously being met in line with Ofsted requirements and the EYFS.

As a management team, to oversee planning and children’s developmental records and ensure that they reflect their individual progress and are up to date.

To lead on effective partnerships working with children, families and the wider community. Continuously looking at ways to build relationships with external agencies.
Relevant Qualifications & Experience
Qualified to a minimum of L3 in childcare or equivalent
A minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience in an early years settings
Experience of leading and supporting staff teams to improve practice
